Recently voted #1 Town for Craft Lovers, Seagrove is located in central North Carolina, making it the perfect day trip destination. It is the largest community of potters, with the longest continuous history of pottery making in the United States.  More than 100 ceramic artists call Seagrove home.

The Celebration of Seagrove Potters is the one time of year that the majority of the Seagrove ceramic artists gather under one roof to showcase their work together.  The Celebration always takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving at the Historic Luck’s Cannery in Seagrove.

This premier event is a collector’s paradise of exceptional art pieces, pottery for your home, and much more.  Festivities kick off Friday night with a Gala, live auction, and potters market.  Enjoy an evening full of entertainment featuring a live 15-piece jazz band, food, craft beer, and wine.  Two or more Seagrove artists work together to create collaborative pieces for the live auction. Be the first to bid on this year’s 10th anniversary commemorative platter, signed by the Seagrove potters.

To celebrate the event’s 10th anniversary, the potters are giving away a handmade commemorative mug to the first 100 Gala guests.  The Celebration continues Saturday and Sunday with the potters market, demonstrations, children’s activities, food trucks, silent auction on Saturday, and Sunday beer garden.  Proceeds from the auctions support the local pottery community’s pursuit of art and education.

The 10th Annual Celebration of Seagrove Potters is November 17 – 19.  The Friday night Gala is from 6 – 9pm.  The potters market continues Saturday, from 9am – 5pm and Sunday, from 10am – 4pm.  More information and tickets available at  Be sure to visit the Celebration of Seagrove Potters Facebook page for artist listings and up to date information.

Extend your shopping experience by attending the Holiday Open House, happening at participating Seagrove pottery shops the first two weekends of December.  Seagrove potters are open year round and welcome visitors.
