CenterFest Arts Festival 2018, produced and presented by the Durham Arts Council, will take place on Saturday, September 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Durham. The festival embraces the city center, including the Five Points and CCB Plazas and will showcase the work of a record number of artists: 140 talented visual artists and crafts people and over 650 performers on six stages. The Kids Zone, delicious food, a Beer Garden and multiple community nonprofits and service providers fill out the vibrant festival offerings. Extended entertainment will continue into Saturday evening at the Beer Garden and CCB Plaza.

For the last three years, CenterFest was voted by professional artists, one of Sunshine Artist’s top 100 fine arts festivals in the United States! The heart of CenterFest has always been the array of fine art and craft created by visual artists. Selected through a rigorous review process, the quality and selection of work from artists across the country will delight festival visitors.

For families, the Kids Zone provides make and take activities and including a clay studio tent. Six stages throughout the festival will showcase the music and dance talents of the region.

The Durham Arts Council’s CenterFest is free and open to the public, although donations are appreciated, and the event will occur rain or shine. CenterFest is presented and produced by the Durham Arts Council with support from community sponsors including Erie Insurance, The Herald-Sun, Mix 101.5, Durham Coca-Cola, TROSA, Sci Med Solutions, NetFriends, People’s Channel, Spark Productions and many more.
