Artist Studios at Fearrington Village: Annual Open Studio Tour
Fearrington Villages Welcomes You to Explore their Annual Open Studio Tour
artGuide art news blog presents the Annual Open Studio Tour hosted at Fearrington Village. Located in Pittsboro, North Carolina, the tour will include 23 artists who will have their studios open to the public to view all forms of art including paintings, sculptures and jewelry.
Enjoy a tranquil springtime occasion and opportunity to meet the artists of Fearrington Village and see their unique works of fine art. Twenty-three members of Artist Studios at Fearrington Village will display their creative works on the weekend of April 1st and 2nd, 2017, from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and noon to 5 PM on Sunday. The showing takes place within the individual studios/homes of the artists. Take advantage of the efficiency of visiting multiple studios nearby each other within the scenic residential neighborhoods of Fearrington Village.
Diverse art works will include paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography, basketry, woodworking, and more. The 23 members of the Artist Studios at Fearrington Village will enjoy explaining their motivation to create and their techniques. These independent artists open their studios at their homes, where the broader scope of their work, much of it available to purchase, can be appreciated more completely than in a limited gallery environment.
Although some of the artists work using more than one format, for example both painting and sculpture, eight of the artists studios will feature paintings, drawings, screen prints, or collages using a variety of two-dimensional techniques, including acrylic, oil, and watercolor painting; pen and ink drawing, or mixed media. Five studios feature fine art photography; five more show fine jewelry made from a broad variety of materials, from sterling silver, to gemstones, to glass, to other natural or constructed materials. Fiber art, weaving and basketry are being displayed at two studios, and five more will show a variety of three-dimensional art, including whimsical sculpture, construction, and assemblages and elegantly turned wooden objects.
A brochure guide, with map of studio locations, is available to download from the organization’s website: www.fearringtonartists.org
Also, the brochure and map is available in shops at Fearrington Village. While visiting the area, enjoy a walk in the scenic park, a visit to the village shops and restaurants.
