Artfields 2016 in Lake City, South Carolina

artGuide Magazine is excited to present to readers the South's most engaging art festival and competition, ArtFields.  This South Carolina art event is one of the largest art festivals in the country.

ArtFields® is all about celebrating and recognizing the incredible artistic talent that thrives in the Southeast. The annual competition and festival attracts the most talented artists from twelve Southeastern states and art enthusiasts nationwide while transforming Lake City, South Carolina, population 6,700, into a living, breathing art gallery.

In fact, the nine-day celebration of art and community is the largest arts competition of its kind and draws 20,000 attendees annually. And, this year, nearly 400 artists from 12 different southern states and representing an arrayof work from traditional painting to experimental digital media have been accepted to show their work in Lake City. Approximately 400 works of art will be displayed in 40 downtown venues, from renovated 1920s warehouses and Smithsonian-qualified art galleries to local restaurants and upscale boutiques. In addition, the festival will feature award-winning chefs, nationally acclaimed entertainers, family fun, unique arts experiences and demos, and much more.

With the promise of more than $100,000 in cash prizes to artists awarded based on visitor voting and a panel of esteemed judges, the program has added energy, vibrancy and culture to Florence County and South Carolina since 2013. To date, ArtFields has awarded over $335,000 in cash prizes to deserving artists.

General admission is free; special event tickets for sale separately.
