Aldrich, Cynthia

Cynthia Aldrich is a ceramic artist who explores all the various qualities and techniques of clay in her sculptural and functional pieces.  Her figurative sculptural pieces have long been influenced by prehistoric and primitive art, particularly the goddess figure. The surfaces of these pieces reflect the earth or ancient patinas. Recently, however, the textures, colors and landscapes of the Southwest have resulted in bottle forms, some bulbous and perhaps figurative and others simply colorful and fanciful.
