What's Modern Now at Ciel Gallery
Ciel Gallery, a Charlotte art gallery, presents What's Modern Now, an exhibit attempting to define today's meaning of modernity. artGuide Magazine is excited to showcase this exhibit of local artists.
Ciel Gallery, a fine art collective, presents an exhibition of local artists interpreting groundbreaking directions in their medium of choice and pushing the boundaries of contemporary art May 6 - 28. The theme is inspired by Bob Fosse’s choreography in Sweet Charity, using a retro period of discovery, innovation, and rapid development in the arts to push artists onto new paths of discovery in the current climate.
Artwork presented will range from mosaic inspired by explorations at Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo, Italy, to digital painting and live projections on the exterior of the gallery. Further innovations will be exhibited in Oil, Pastel, Acrylic, Mixed Media, Encaustic, Mosaic, Wood, Metal, and Ceramic.
A reception will be held Friday, May 6 with the artists, 6-9PM. Ciel’s First Friday openings are popular with both new and seasoned collectors.
