Durham County Pottery Tour in its 5th year

There are so many quality arts events, shows, openings in Durham that it’s hard to make time for one more. But The Durham County Pottery Tour is well worth your time. During the entire weekend of November 10, 10AM-5PM and November 11, 12-5PM, 2017, the studios of 20 professional Durham County potters and 2 local teaching facilities will be open to the public for touring. Five of these potters are new to the tour this year.

The tour has been extremely successful for the past 4 years and this year promises to be even better. If you have ever wanted to see where potters create their beautiful pottery and have the opportunity to ask questions about the process this is a wonderful event for you.

From our web site (Durhamcountypotterytour.com) you can download a map, pick out your route and visit as many potteries as you can. Street signs featuring our yellow logo will guide you to all locations. Brochures with the maps will be available in many venues around Durham. Of course all the potters will have their pieces for sale and you will have your choice of tableware, jewelry, garden pieces, sculpture and decorative items. Many of the potters will be having drawings for a free piece of their pottery.

Treat yourself to a fun weekend and join us for our 5th Annual Durham County Pottery Tour. More information, maps, the brochure and information about the potters can be found at Durhamcountypotterytour.com

In celebration of our 5th year we are having a special event for the tour...."Pottery Bucks".  At each potter's studio there will be a form to fill out to enter your name in a drawing - the more studios you visit the more chances you have to win our "Pottery Bucks".  At the end of the tour a name will be drawn and that lucky winner will be given $100 in Pottery Bucks to spend on pottery from any of the tour potters - all at one place or split up.   The Pottery Bucks are good for 1 year.
